Looking Cool for Back to School

On August 2, 2024, over 200 students gathered to be pampered before heading back to school. They received new hairstyles and manicures and munched on snacks. The best part is that they didn’t have to make reservations at an expensive spa. They got the star treatment for free!

Using funds provided from a Missouri United Methodist Foundation ministry grant and the generous time of several volunteers, Camdenton UMC was able to provide haircuts, manicure supplies, hygiene products, and refreshments for 210 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Even some moms were able to receive manicures! Ten families also received $25 gas cards during the event.

What an amazing way for these kids to start the new school year with confidence! Many families in the Camdenton community would not have been able to afford these services that many of us so often overlook if it weren’t for Camdenton UMC. Not only were these families given the opportunity to start school on the right foot, but they were also introduced to the loving community at Camdenton UMC. Great work!
