Weaving Wesleyan theology together with sound financial advice, Saving Grace is a course designed by United Methodists for United Methodists offering concrete guidance on saving, earning, giving, debt, spending, and how to build a sustainable financial plan. What are the dangers of debt, both financially and faithfully? How much should we give and why? Saving Grace offers a faith-based response to these questions and more, equipping people of faith with a comprehensive system for turning your finances around, or getting off to a good financial start.
As a UM pastor serving in Missouri, you (and your spouse or accountability partner) are invited to participate in this Saving Grace Pilot Course. The course is designed to equip participants to lead the Saving Grace course for your congregation and your community, so you may also want to invite a church volunteer or staff member to participate as a prospective course leader. Participants can expect to engage with their personal and/or family finances with the goal of beginning or continuing the journey toward financial well-being.
Saving Grace is being presented by the Missouri United Methodist Foundation (MUMF), and led by Rev. Mark Struckhoff, Director of the Clergy and Church Financial Ministry (C2FM). Guest Speakers will include C2FM Financial Coaches and video presentations by Your Money Line Founder, Peter Dunn, a.k.a. Pete the Planner.
There are 6 Saving Grace Sessions as follows:
• Session 1: All Manner of Good
• Session 2: Getting Started: Tracking Expenses and Income
• Session 3: Giving and Saving
• Session 4: Understanding and Eliminating Debt
• Session 5: Spending
