A Strong Foundation

In the Spring of this year, your Foundation was honored to present a ministry grant to Cornerstones of Care for their Pathways Transitional Living Apartment Start-Up Assistance program. Cornerstones of Care is a behavioral and mental health nonprofit dedicated to partnering with children and families to build safe and healthy communities. Their Pathways Transitional Living Program furnished 20 apartments across the Kansas City Metro giving youth entering adulthood a stable foundation to build their futures.

With new sofas, dressers, kitchen tables, lamps, TVs, and bed frames, basic housing was transformed into welcoming homes. For many, it was their first experience of the comfort and dignity that comes with brand-new furniture.

As one young mother moving in with her child shared, “It makes my child and me feel like a real home. I’ve never had new furniture before.”
