Stephen Covey coined the phrase, “Beginning with the end in mind.” As we look towards the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, the Missouri United Methodist Foundation has invited Jennifer Ross of Miller Management Systems to join Rev. Mike Wondel for a year-end church financial review. Using a simple checklist, they will discuss how to close out the church’s financial year well, while also setting the church up for financial success in the new year.
This 1-hour webinar will cover best practices in the areas of payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the set-up of financial statements. At the same time, all UM churches can have unique issues that call for flexibility. The presenters will draw on their knowledge and personal experience that is both wide and deep in service to local UM churches of all sizes and settings.
This webinar is a great opportunity for church financial staff, finance board members, treasurers, and pastors to ask questions, consider options, and share concerns. It will also help in developing a common understanding and awareness that sets your congregation up for success.

Mike Wondel is the Associate Director of Development and Programs for the Missouri United Methodist Foundation. Prior to serving at MUMF, Mike served in a variety of large and small UMCs in Missouri. Mike is a self-avowed church finance and administration geek and has a well-deserved reputation for growing financially healthy churches. Mike also brings the heart of a pastor to this work and strives to help church leaders strengthen the interconnections of mission, ministry, money, and fruitful discipleship.
