C2FM
The Clergy and Church Financial Ministry (C2FM) exists to equip clergy and lay leaders to become confident and effective financial leaders within their congregations. When church leaders develop strong financial practices, their congregations become healthier, more vibrant, and better able to serve their communities.
C2FM pursues this mission through three integrated strategies:
Financial education builds confidence and removes the stigma that often surrounds conversations about money in the church. By providing practical tools for personal and congregational financial management, we help clergy lead with integrity and cultivate a culture of wise stewardship within their churches.
Direct financial assistance helps pastors address pressing financial challenges and achieve important financial milestones. These grants relieve immediate financial stress and provide the stability clergy need to focus fully on their calling to ministry.
Financial coaching ensures that lasting changes take place. Through one-on-one coaching, clergy develop healthier financial habits, reduce long-term stress, and build sustainable practices that prevent future financial crises.

When clergy first engaged C2FM services, they had a total of $2,624,415 in student debt. After two or more years working with C2FM, their combined debt was $1,668,202, a reduction of $956,213.

Led by Rev. Laura Murphy, the Putting Your House in Order workshop helps individuals and families organize their affairs, clarify their wishes, and prepare important documents that will guide loved ones when the time comes.

Ministry Grants
“A small congregation can make a big impact to families and community.”
Once again, in 2025, the Foundation funded a wide array of Ministry Grant proposals. The Foundation board looks for proposals that have a clear plan, meaningful measures of success, and strong connections to mission and positive ministry impact. Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded over $4.4 million in ministry grants.

This service of the Foundation is intended to assist those United Methodist charities that do not have the ability to readily receive and process gifts of securities. The annual average value of stock gifts over the last 5 years is $1,148,534.20.
